All our cylinders leave the
factory with an Identification Label. At the bottom of
the label is a small area in which the part number is
printed. This is all we need to duplicate the
cylinder. The numbers stamped on either end of the cap
are factory date codes.

The format of some part
numbers has changed over the years. Alkon had a
slightly different numbering system (which we can easily
cross reference) which included the date code. This is
the reason some old cylinder's numbers will not match up
with the How To Order section of the series
descriptions.
Some part numbers start
with an "S" or "MS." This is a Special cylinder (see
Specials). It was designed
in house for an OEM application.
If you can't find any
numbers on the cylinder, and you need to duplicate it,
the best thing to do is send it to us. Call
262-673-9255 and inform us of your intentions.
If you can't send it to
us, and you can't see any numbers, the following
information will be needed.
1. Bore size.
To measure the bore size:
Measure the distance around
the cylinder tube and divide by 6.28. This will give
you the radius including the thickness of the tubing
(Aluminum cylinder tubing is 1/8 inch thick). Subtract
1/4 inch, this is the inside radius. Multiply by 2 for
the bore size.
2 Tie Rods and length
3. Length from tip to tail.
4. Length of rod sticking
out when fully retracted and fully extended.
5. Rod diameter.
6. Cushions Front or rear
or both?
Look for adjusting screws on
faces other than port faces.
7. Tubing material
8. Any Stainless Steel
9. Mounting options.
REMEMBER:
All cylinders are made to order, and sometimes
non-returnable. |
