Motion Controls was
originally known as Pillar Motion Controls. Pillar
Corporation purchased the cylinder line from
Alkon Corporation in 1986 as an attempt to expand
their product line and subsequent market expansion.
Pillar Corporation was largely unsuccessful in
promoting this aspect of the business and the product
line was sold to a group of investors in 1990, and
renamed Motion Controls, Inc.
The group of investors
was made up of people who had been involved in the fluid
power industry for many years, and understood the needs
of the market place, something that Pillar
Corporation had lacked. The business grew and many
of the problems which had plagued Pillar Corporation
were rectified.
In the Spring of 1999,
the group of investors voted to sell the
corporation. The assets were sold to a private concern
and Motion Controls LLC. opened January 1, 2000
with all of its previous experienced employees. We have
continued to flourish since then.
